2019 Alice von Hildebrand Initiative

2019 Alice von Hildebrand Initiative

I’m delighted to tell you about one of our major plans for 2019: The Alice von Hildebrand Initiative.

The Hildebrand Project has a unique and timely opportunity to preserve and present the life’s work of Dietrich von Hildebrand’s widow, Alice von Hildebrand. A formidable intellect in her own right, Alice von Hildebrand is without question the most influential champion of her husband’s work, a cause to which she has devoted her life.

Alice von Hildebrand will turn ninety-six on March 11, 2019. The Hildebrand Project has chosen this occasion to inaugurate a series of new initiatives focused on presenting the legacy of Alice von Hildebrand alongside her husband’s and introducing this powerful witness to a new generation.

This initiative preserves her legacy and takes the Hildebrand Project to a whole new level.

I’d love to count you a key collaborator in this new initiative.

The centerpiece of this initiative is a new website devoted to all things Alice. Here, we will present the great treasury of her thought. Videos which have not been seen in decades will be digitized and put online, as well as a multiplicity of articles and essays, dating all the way back to the 1950s.

To celebrate the launch, we will also publish a new Best of Alice von Hildebrand book, featuring a selection of her most beloved and influential essays throughout her prolific writing career.

Your gift will help us:

  • Clean up and produce the archival audio and video for the new AlicevonHildebrand.com website.

  • Fund key parts of the Best of Alice von Hildebrand book, like editing, typesetting, and cover design.

  • Preserve Alice von Hildebrand’s legacy, which is far greater than her admirers realize.

  • Expand Dietrich von Hildebrand’s audience through his most beloved popularizer.

An end-of-year gift in 2018 will help us hit the ground running in 2019 on our new Alice von Hildebrand Initiative. Please visit our donation page to support the new Alice von Hildebrand Initiative.
